Stratus Properties engages in the acquisition, development, management and sale of commercial and residential real estate. Known for the quality of the communities that it builds, Stratus relies on careful planning and attention to detail to create settings that make living, playing and working more enjoyable.
We coordinate our residential sales operations through our wholly owned subsidiary, Avalon Realty Company, located in Stratus' signature project, the Barton Creek community in southwest Austin. Commercial leasing operations are conducted from our corporate headquarters in Austin's Central Business District.
Stratus Properties was formed as a spin-off from Freeport-McMoran in March 1992 to hold, operate and develop the domestic real estate and oil & gas properties of our former parent company. We sold all our oil & gas holdings during the 1990's and we now focus solely on our real estate operations.
Stratus Properties is a publicly traded company and is listed on the NASDAQ under the symbol STRS.
